Need tips on how to stay awake all night

I Spy for the first half hour, and after that, emmm..

But seriously, I think you're lucky to be doing such a shift in this technological age. Imagine if it was the fifties. You'd have to make do with the latest issue of the Dandy and a bakelite radio playing Beethoven's fourth movement.

Boredom is what an Archos PMP or similar was made to combat. I wish I had some free time in my job, think of all the podcasts, films and books I could get through. :-)

Play wow... does it to me most nights and i have to get up for work!

+1!

I could stay up for days.. . . Most addictive game everrrrr.... I quit now though, but I'm really bored... Can't fill the void..

If you've got a laptop, fill it with podcasts and films or TV episodes.. Or whatever you like... Thats what I always seem to do when I need to stay up.

You could even do one of those 'study from home' qualification things :D
Good Luck

All I need to do is turn up and do a little cleaning/tidying. Then I walk around the hotel doing security checks (making sure widows/doors are closed/locked etc).

After that I basically just have to be available on the off-chance we get late-night guests checking in. And also serve drinks to customers who want them throughout the night.

Easiest (and best paid) job I've ever had. The only challenge is staying awake.

Sounds like a good job. :D

Do not eat during the day and try and sleep

have 'breakfast' before you leave, and then lunch / dinner at the appropriately adjusted times. I do a lot of travelling between time zones and find this is the best way to re-adjust my body clock

Alternatively find one of the fit eastern European girls that always work at hotels now and keep you and her busy :)

As I already said, yes I'm allowed to sleep, but for the first few nights I'd like to stay awake.

I don't think turning up to my first night on the job equipped with pillow+teddy bear will make a very good impression. :p
