Hi guys,

I live in a 3 floor house with the BT Home Hub being on the bottom floor and needless to say the connection in my room on the Wifi is terrible.

I have tried range extenders but they have been pretty crap.

Is there something like a powerline adaptor that would bring a connection into my room then give me Wifi from that?

Cheers.

You could simply use powerline adapters and then you would have an ethernet line to the room.

If you absolutely MUST have wireless then yes, you can simply get a powerline wireless adapter, or hell, even just a standard powerline adapter ( well obviously you need at least 2 ) but then plop an old router onto it and wirelessly connect to that!

This is what I did for my mothers home when we wanted a quick hack in her B&B - I simply chucked an old modem router in teh middle floor, roughly about the middle of the house and it worked great and all the rooms has full access to it. She has a 12 bedroom house so its a sizeable job, the only issue was that being a 300 year old house, it had solid granite walls so it was a bit tricky.
