Hi all,

New to all this and the forum has already helped so much. Trying to make a few upgrades, my current pc parts are:

CPU = Interl Core i5-2500
GPU = Nvidia GTX 1660
HDD = WD5003ABYZ 500GB
RAM = 24GB Corasair
Motherboard = Supermicro C7P67
Power Supply = Corsair CX430

I currently have an SSD installed as well at 50gb but not sure the make, however I've purchased a WD Black SN750 500GB to upgrade but the motherboard isn't compatible as it's old. So I was wondering if anyone could advise me on a decent but relatively low cost Motherboard that can take all of the above in. I've been using UserBenchmark and it seems that every motherboard I try is incompatible, especially for the CPU and RAM?

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi.

Your motherboard and cpu are to old for an m2 drive like the sn 750 do you have a couple of choices.

Upgrade the motherboard, cpu and memory or swap your sn 750 for a sata 3 ssd and carry on using your old parts.

You may be ble to get a PCIe m.2 adapter card but it mite be a big problem getting it to work properly with the motherboard.

Thanks both for the responses. I had the thought that maybe for now it would be far easier to just upgrade the SSD I have and keep the new SSD for whenever I have chance to improve the rest of the machine. Do you have any advice on the best SSD to get within my motherboard and similar to the SN750 price point? (think I spent £70).

Computer is functioning fine now, it's just 50GB on a SSD is killing me as constantly left with about 1GB left (Windows system and reserved is killing me).

Would the WDS500G2BOA Blue 3D NAND Internal 2.5inch SATA, 500GB be sufficient? I don't want a drop in quality, just an increase in storage.

Thanks
