Need to get a US Wii

My girlfrind lives in NY and I know she wants a Wii, its her birthday soon and I am going over there...

Would it be easier getting one here and taking it over?

Or just getting it there.. bear in mind I dont want her to know anything about it.

I'm assuming you are concerned about stock rather than UK/US compatibility?

Cos surely no-one in their right mind would consider bringing a wacked up with electronics tax PAL 240v system over to the US.

But if you are intent, then don't. 1.\ it wont work, 2.\ they are now readily availible over in the US.

1, I know a UK one wont work 2, I know they are available.

I want to get one without her knowing and that will be easier for me to do if I buy a US one here somewhere.

I don't see why you would want to pay excess postage/customs/vat charges bringing into the country and then take it back again? It would be so much cheaper and easier to get it over there. Save some luggage space as well for whip cream.

Its not a stupid question at all, if you read everything you would see I dont want her to know anything about it.

Buying it from there will be very difficult as she will be with me all the time.

Keep yer knickers on son... we are not mind readers you know.... May I suggest you read your original post and tell me where it says you want it to be a US Model.

So buying it there will be difficult... Not as difficult as getting an electronics item in through customs who may charge you addtional taxes.
