HSBC dont seem to offer anything. Any ideas?
Who do you bank with now?
You don't have house insurance? How come?
ring up that Phones4u one. (they have a different name but im sure its just phones4u). they will offer you a huge discount on the official rate. they went down to about £2.80 a month with a much lower excess from the original price of 8.99, however i was an existing customer. worth a try.

Me?
Co-op
£10 a month gets me interest free over draft, travel insurance, phone insurance, gadget insurance, break down cover and a few other things.
Security is a lot better only need the "calculator" when setting up new transfer accounts. Once set up, you can send payments without it. That to me is a sensible comprormise. It means I can still shift money when out and about.
Been over overdraft once, they sent me a letter and had 7days to rectify my mistake before incurring fees, unlike HSBc.
