hey guys i have had slow response times for like 3 months now on this pc and i have done OS reinstall i have checked my hardrives on memtest running it for 1 hour and 30mins. i have also reset my overclock on my cpu from 4.4ghz to 3.50ghz to see if it could be the problem. but i still get slow response times on my keyboard sometimes and in games does anyone know anything else i could do also when i drag windows applications around my monitor it drags behind it a massive white line with very rare missing icon on applications with a paper sheet instead.

hope someone can help

how can i find out what programs run on the startup and it is windows 7 the OS.

here is the spec:
msi gtx 780 lightning
segate 750w powersupply
8gb ram (dunno what the ram is)
i7 4770k cpu

SAMSUNG SSD 840 EVO 250GB
asus z87 motherboard

list all your hdd's/ssd's your using

made double sure your running sata ports in ahci mode in the bios?

also download cpu-z and look in the spd tab to see what make/model memory your using

can you briefly tell me when in the bios how i can make sure my sata ports are in achi mode please so i can tell you

only 2 hardrives i am using:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-257-SE (Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-175-SA (Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Desktop Kit - (MZ-7TE250KW)

I don't know on asus z87

but carefully look through each page it will say ahci or ide

it defaults to ahci anyway so if you've reset the oc or loaded optimised defaults in the bios it will be in ahci mode

have you enabled xmp, memory profile1 in the bios for your ram? it will set correct ram speed/timings/voltage

no i am not using xmp i just checked, i was in asus bios and it said there is a option for XMP on the OC tab i was on but it didnt give me the option to use it on the drop down bars on any, there was just AUTO or MANUAL

some memory has xmp and some don't

idk if you wanted to try more dram voltage, you should be safe to use upto 1.65v

according to the spd tab its only rated for 1776mhz @ 1.5v

ye i have done my research and it does not give me the option in my bios for the DRAM to be changed to xmp only auto and manual unfortunatly, you think its worth pull a ram stick out leaving one in and try with 4gb ram see if the problem has changed?
