Need to re-case...

Hi folks,

I built my PC just over a year ago, and it turns out I now need it to be much more mobile than it currently is. As such, I need to take it out of the huge case of doom I stupidly chose, and put it in something more compact. I'd still like it look cool, but portability is the major concern now.

Motherboard is "Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3", and I have a couple of hard discs and a Bluray. Full details below if anything else required. If there are any upgrades that could be made while I'm moving it, I guess I could replace some odds and sods as well. I have some spare budget.

Cheers!

Nick

Seems fine... I'm not really sure how much room you get inside different cases, so I was more worried about fitting everything in. Should any Midi Tower fit everything in? (Also what is bigger/smaller than a midi tower? I googled, but it's all a bit unclear)

That Lian -Li will will fit everything in, but cable tidying could be a pain. I think its likely to be the smallest case that will fit your requirements though.

Moving up in size affords a bit more flexibility, but it really depends on your budget and primary concern, if weight is not an issue, a small-ish sized steel case might be cheaper.

Most Mid towers should fit, some might lack 5.25" bays now, but everything else is pretty standard unless you need >2 or 3 3.5" bays.

What's your current case?

Ok so your current CM HAF 932 is (W) 243 x (H) 560 x (D) 564 mm, Net Weight 13.2kg
to compare the Lian-Li would be (W) 188 x (H) 375 x (D) 455 mm, Net Weight 3.87kg

So er, quite a bit different :)

Ah - issue in finding a case could be your PSU - at 170mm long its a bit bigger than normal, and longer than the Lian-Li says it can fit, so might have to go for something a little bigger.

I can buy an different PSU as well, assuming it still has enough oomph for everything else?
