I've never visited this forum before but I'm sure you're all a friendly bunch and will be able to offer some advice
As title suggests I need to replace my 1998 Escort as I'm going to have to spend around £800 to get it through it's MOT... I don't do a lot of driving, maybe 4-5k per year. But would like something comfortable as I sometimes have to drive to Cardiff to see the girlfriend.
Anyway here is what I need. 5 doors, manual, petrol, 2001 or newer, less than 80k miles, 1.6-1.8 engine... Am looking to spend around £1500 give or take a couple of hundred. Any ideas?
I've had a quick look at auto trader and Vectras, Astras and Mondeos seem like the best bet. Would you agree? I really just looking for something relatively relaible which should be cheap to fix if I have any problems. Anything inparticular I should look for? Or any general buying advice would be appreciated
