Need to restrict bandwidth allowance (free software help!)

Hi there...

Can anyone point me to free software to stop my brothers raping the net connection silly with torrents??

I have a Netgear wireless router and would like to only allow them to have a set amount of the network speed so their torrents are still running but I can play CS:S and stuff at the same time???

Could just make sure your brother limits his torrents to whatever %age of you max download speed

Even if you limit his bandwidth properly, youll probably still see packetloss if youre playing FPS games at the same time as someone else is downloading faster than about 30-40KBps or something :/

Would be better off just using a good torrent client and queueing torrents to download late at night when everyone is asleep

Well I've got a second pc downloading torrents in the same set up, just set the other pc to have a max download of 20kb/s lower than the maximum available on my line. Works perfectly fine

yeh but it's far easier to do it remotely - for one reason when I'm not playing CSS the torrent can go full speed no problem so it would be really handy if I could limit the connection for say an hour and then change it bacK?! any ideaS? thanks!
