Just wondering whats the best way to go about this? It was bought Dec 7 2007, ive put in an rma request to ocuk, ive also been in contact with asus. Asus for some reason expect me to pay £16 to have it collected and have to wait upto 28 days to get a replacement or get it fixed.

Im not even sure if after the year mark ocuk handle rma's or theyre passedonto the manufacturer, that and they dont seem to stock the maximus formula anymore.

Not exactly sure whats happened to the board, it just point blank refuses to boot with anything over 2 sticks of ram installed now, 3 sticks results in a bsod when loading windows and 4 sticks results in no video display. Done a memtest scan on the ram and no errors. :(

Did it ever work with 4 sticks?

After 12 months most retailers pass the buck to the manufacturer (tho I'm not quite sure of the legalities of this). £16 to have it collected probably isn't too bad when you consider the cost it'll be to send the board yourself.

Remember to send only the bare board, because you'll only get a bare board back. If you send off any of the other bits you'll never see them again.

Worked with 4 sticks from the day i got it, few weeks ago i started getting "det dram" errors on the lcd poster and its never worked properly since. Tried all different kinds of bios to try and sort it and no luck.

Ive seen plenty of posts about people needing 2x2 gig sticks, but if it worked for a year with 4x1 gig theres no way in hell im forking out more cash just to suit a motherboard that apparently all of a sudden took a dislike to 4 sticks being installed.

shame nice mobo, but I m in the same situation, I would try and do RMA with ocuk rather than asus but if that fails you will have to do it via asus

nice:P but what happens if you want it replacing of something of the same value?? or almost :P

The really weird thing about this is the the mobo will only post if 1 stick of ram is installed at default northbridge voltages. For 2 to work ive to increase the voltage to 1.51 which generates quite a bit more heat. Id hate to see how much it would need cranked to get all 4 working again.

Still find this pretty strange considering for a year all 4 worked at default voltages.

hey Gerard how did the whole rma go as im having exactley the same problem with my maximus formula, only post with 1 stick of ram at stock and i usually use 4.

I had to RMA ( to the company I bought it from) a DOA Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58 (not bought from Overclokers) it took 3 months yes 3, a great board but don't think I would buy ASUS again, but maybe I was just unlucky!!!
Good luck
