Sorry for not responding to the thread sooner I have been busy.... Thanks for all the suggestions. I have not found the cause (no visible leaks, and areas like the GPU are hard to get to for putting some tissue around, so I have decided when I get a break from work I am going to dismantle it all and tighten every joint.
My OP was just to see whether this was normal or not and clearly this is not normal so I will need to properly check every joint. ...

If you are losing that much but not getting any obvious wet drips from any fitting then my bet would be your rad channels have a pin leak somewhere. Since you have fans on the rad the water will evaporate before it has chance to leak enough to make a drip, if the leak is small. I would also bet that the pin hole is such that with the machine off and therefore no pump pressure, the leak must be so small that it can't naturally drip under gravity either. Traditional way of checking would be to submerge the rad under water and blow into it.

Haha. That’s brilliant. I did that once. Accidentally put something through a rad and had to test it with the tubing attached and blowing to see if any bubbles coming out.
