Need to upgrade Graphics card - £200 budget (550W PSU)

Hi guys,

My graphics card has had problems after my PSU blew up and now has started having issues so I need to replace it asap. I have a GTS 450 in there at the moment temporarily but the fan is so loud and unable to control it.

Right now I'm thinking of upgrading the Graphics card and Ram.

PC Spec:

550W OCZ PSU
500GB HDD
Intel I3 550 @ 4.3Ghz
Kingston Blu 4GB RAM - Upgrading to 2x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) = 16GB.

Would be much appreciated if someone could tell me a decent Graphics card and if the RAM is fine?

Yeah, atm Nvidia has nothing to fill the £200 price bracket so your only choice really is AMD. Stretch to a 7950 if you can, they have more overclocking headroom- you can easily surpass stock 7970's speeds on stock voltage.

nvidia need to wake the **** up and get a graphics card better than the 560 out in the £150-200 price range, cos ATI is thrashing them atm at this price range..

The thing is though, the 660 Ti is actually selling well from what I've heard- despite being overpriced by about £50 imo. Part of the reason is that many people just look at BF3 benchmarks- where Nvidia cards tend to do well. Most people only look at stock benchmarks, they don't realise how much overclocking potential HD 7000 series cards offer.
