Need to withdraw 3k from the bank. Can i get it in one go?

Go in with a gun and ask for the money 'now with no fuss'. I tend to find they hand it over pretty quick without asking for such trivial things as ID etc.

You might go to prison though

who is Ned? And what does he want the money for ?

I took out a similar amount from Barclays last year, just turned up and presented my cashpoint card at the counter and they gave me the cash. I didn't even need to enter a PIN anywhere or present any ID. It really shouldn't be a problem.

I'd have been mighty annoyed at them if they did that to me.

When I was getting a cashiers cheque to pay for my car I had to show them various forms of ID as well as answer quite a few security questions, that was for £9000 right enough.

I'd have been mighty annoyed at them if they did that to me.

I wasn't. It's my 'home' branch, I could see the picture of myself that they took when I opened the account on the screen. I guess that looking at a picture of the account holder is good enough ID.

Poor guy is gonna have half of OcUK waiting for him when he walks out the bank :p

You will know it's them as they will be armed with keyboards.

This is of course assuming the branch publishes a direct number, an awful lot of them don't any more.

True but I was taking that as a given. The other option is to phone up the main centre and ask to be put through to your local branch.

And hope the cashier doesn't have a chavy mate ready get you on your way out? :p

I don't so much hope that as expect that my bank is not going to set up people to rob me on the way home. That's a "value added" service I can quite happily do without. :p
