Hey everyone,

I have the upgrade itch but iv'e been out the hardware loop for some time so need some advice and guidance on what to do to get the best value for money.
I am planning to upgrade my GPU, monitor and keyboard.
Currently I am running a XFX R9 270X and monitor LG Flatron E2350.

I don't have the money to upgrade both at the same time so wondering what would be the best path to take (monitor or GPU upgrade first).

If I upgrade the GPU I am thinking of a RX480 but wait for the after market coolers to come about. I understand they have a power draw problem with the PCI-E slot atm. I assume this will be fixed when the after market versions appear on the market but are there any other graphics cards on the market that I should consider? (My budget for GPU is £150 - £200)

Next is the monitor, this ones getting a little old. It's a 24" TN 1080p @ 60hz 5ms and got it some time ago. I was thinking about 1440p but seems that the graphics card budget would limit me to 1080p. So a 144hz 1080p would seem better, my problem is my budget is £170-£220 for the monitor and they seem to be TN panels which make the colour look washed out?

I got myself all in a muddle with this upgrade I think and some advice would be excellent. With world of warcraft legion around the corner I am looking to get a better experience :o

If WoW is the main game you play then upgrade the monitor first. Imo for that type of gaming you're looking at quality 24-27'' 1080p monitors either VA or IPS. Something like https://www.overclockers.co.uk/dell...-slim-bezel-monitor-midnight-g-mo-086-de.html or my favourite https://www.overclockers.co.uk/iiya...a-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-113-iy.html

You also have a very good option at 1440p with https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...creen-led-monitor-silver-black-mo-029-ao.html but it will be harder to drive it. In WoW it won't be too much of a problem even with the 270x, especially with some tweaks. I think this is the best option long term.

If you're interested in super-wide then this is a good one as well: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lg-2...e-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-143-lg.html

Do you just play WoW? If it was me I'd always say upgrade the GPU as you'll see a huge difference in performance (especially over a 270x) but if you just play wow and your 270x handles it well enough buy the monitor.

Pretty much just WoW at the moment. I get varied FPS in WoW though anything from 30 to 90 so I am worried that the 270x may not be powerful enough.
