what do you mean by it just dies? blue screens? monitor goes black? describe a little more

does that memory support xmp profile in the bios? if so set/enable xmp

Start with as basic a system as possible and build up from there.

Will it boot and stay running with just the motherboard, CPU & cooler and memory?

If it still doesn’t work try it with one stick of memory at a time.

Double check all connections are seated correctly with your PSU. Give em a good push and on the motherboard also. Also try removing your GPU and using on board graphics for now and remove the hard drive and anything else not needed.

I keep seeing these threads with the same m/b. I had the same problem which appears to have gone away after updating the bios (f8 to f18), it then installed the pci bridge (whatever that is), maybe these boards have issues that need resolving.

I too have seen threads with the same comments. I had one delivered the other week and put it together on Monday....looks like a dead x16 pci-e, after help from support, I updated to f18 also, same result, still no post from x16......stripping it out to rma it tonight when I get home.

Is your heatsink set correctly?

10 seconds seems too long for a bios/board/ connection failure. Could be overheating.

Do fans spin up (on processor), what do you see on the screen?

Try on board graphics (remove the 7870). Do you have the correct power to the graphics card?
