I decided to dust out my CPU Heatsink / fan today, which then ended up in me wanting to redo the thermal paste, so i unclipped it all and put it back together, However one of the 4 pins doesn't seem to be tightening up ( Worst design Ever btw ).

Is there any decent Coolers which dont require its own back plate? I dont want to disconnect the whole motherboard.

heres my current cooler / clips!

Its now running at around 40C idle back at 2.4Ghz with crap Akasa 450 thermal compound.

Ideally id love a little Watercooler like the Corsair H50, but like i said, i dont want to dissconnect the motherboard from the case to fit back-plates etc.

Big Big Thanks!

Looks good, like I said the only problem is not knowing if this will fit my motherboard or not without having to change the backplate. I don't know if my current akasa hsf has a special backplate that will work with the above

Thanks

Decided to go with this

Thermaltake 850i

Can get it supplied & fitted for a tad over £100!

I can't find any reviews on this kit though.

You're mad.

Should have just got a H50 and saved yourself a lot of hassle, and money.

H50 requires changing of backplate, which means motherboard out etc, which i can't be bothered with

I may buy the H50 or H70 and get someone to install it for me though.
