Thanks for all the replies; will take a look through the deeds. I know the development company is still building houses so they might be interested.
Cost, quite simply. Live in a place called Broughty Ferry on the western edge of Dundee, there are 3 kinds of houses here - Victorian mansions, "older" houses and new builds. Only ones that were in our price range were new builds, and we were only intending on staying for 2 years (moving in 11 months). Quality isn't bad, just not as good as an older house, and don't get any noise at all from adjoining neighbour.
Why did you choose to live in a cheap build out of interest? Not cheap price, but quality. you know throw me up house jobs. Just a question unrelated to yours.
