Neighbour making a racket.

Ok so basically, a new fella has moved in with the next door neighbour and brought along his 2 dogs (both retired, the couple not the dogs). Now she clearly doesnt allow these dogs in the house and he built a large dog shed for them to live in pretty cruel IMO but nevertheless so to the point, on a night they sometimes growl and scratch no biggie i can get over that BUT every morning between 6:30am and 7:30am the man goes out, cleans the dog poo by hosing it down, brushing the back yard, and then he feeds them outside with a scooper in a large bag of biscuits and puts the biscuits in metal bowls. Every morning he wakes me up doing this routine. Is doing this at that time acceptable or not? last week i hung me head out of the window and told him, he said sorry but still continues to do it. Whats next council complaint? and what would they do, is the problem a big enough deal for action to be made?

TL;DR new guy moves in next door with dogs, every morning cleans poo up and feeding the dogs outside making vast amounts of noise around 6:30am - 7:30am

You're going to put in a council complaint because he feeds his dogs in metal bowls in the morning?

Give him a couple of plastic bowls? might make a bit less noise.
As for hosing and sweeping, that seriously cant be "noisy"?

think of it this way if any thieves target your house or garden you will know but the dogs are likely to put anyone off

I hate it when my neighbour wakes me up at 3pm with the hoovering when i'm trying to get some some sleep from gaming all night long.
wow I wouldn't dream of hoovering before 11pm or after 8pm.

same goes for when I'm playing games , watching movies on the pc or listening to music.
outside of those hours I keep the volume low and turn the sub woofer to the lowest volume it will go and raise the cross over frequency until there's hardly any base at all

also if next door had a new born/toddler I would make a special effort as the parent's already had enough to deal with

Neighbour sounds like a responsible dog owner who likes his routine to me. Plastic bowls might help though. Maybe you should ask if he can use a quieter dog biscuit brand as well.

OP, sorry, but you're being a little petty. I'm sure it's irritating, but it's hardly like he's blasting music or singing drunk in the garden. He sounds like a very good dog owner to me. Would you rather the smell of poop wafted up to your room? Or the dogs barking all hours? Some noise is just a part of life I'm afraid.

Sounds like the neighbour is being reasonable to me.

Real noise complaint would be them partying all night, crashing around at 3am and loud music.

Washing down his garden and feeding his dogs at that time is perfectly acceptable in my eyes?

If you know a handyman you could install secondary glazing cheaply, We fitted out two rooms for around 200 quid.
The sound difference is night and day.

Have to agree it doesn't sound at all unreasonable to me. That sort of time in the morning is not stupidly early. Be glad he's looking after his dogs properly, including cleaning up each day.

And agree with some of the previous comments - dogs living outside is in no way cruel.

Think you need to get a bit of perspective - there are plenty of people with real bad neighbour issues. Had you complained to me about a little noise at 6.30-7am, you'd have (politely) been told where to go :)

Actually I feel slightly for the OP as this would boil my **** too. In all likelihood someone will still be asleep at that time of day and the neighbour should be considerate towards those who live around him.

Also, there's a reason horns and workmen aren't allowed until 8am...

I had a similar issue with my neighbours being noisy in the morning so took up hoovering late at night (I'd wait until they turned their ridiculously loud TV off) I soon got an apology from them saying they didn't realise how easily the sound transferred through the walls.

haha at some of the comments here only just seen them. Im not a really light sleeper but the noise he makes brushing, hosing and feeding the dogs is actually really loud and clearly wakes me up on a daily basis. I shouldnt have to invest in ear plugs nor could i sleep in them, and i have had the window shut and i can still hear him, in this summer heat window shut is probably a worse option too. I dont see how im being petty at all i wake up at 7:30 for work yet he wakes me at 6:30 which is then pointless going back to sleep, the noise he generates is a really annoying sound too. We have dogs and cleaning the dog foul at 6:30am isnt necessary. He could quite easily put the food in the bowls in the house and bring them out. I take into consideration other people around me, i wouldnt cut the lawn at half 6 in a morning because its just not considerate, i dont play music really loud late at night and that sort of thing i'm not saying i have the worst neighbours in the world and never have that said its still annoying him waking me up before i need to be woken. I had a polite word with him one morning and he still continues im certain most people wouldnt tolerate it and just making out im the problem but fair enough and thanks for your opinion.

I don't think you have a choice in this matter.

Either tolerate it or move house. :p

I'm a light sleeper myself, people going to work in the morning before me (albeit not many as I get up very early) wake me up - but I don't expect the world stop so I can catch extra sleepy snoozy time, I deal with it as it's my problem.
