Neighbour weedkillered my garden

Sounds like your neighbour really took a leaf out of the wrong gardening book! Maybe they thought your garden was growing on them a little too much, so they decided to nip it in the bud.

Find a local pig farmer and get some pig muck, make nice big heap of it right next to your neighbours, make sure the wind is blowing in the right direction.

They will love it.
Thats actualy not a bad shout, I think I'll move my compost bins to the back corner of the garden, right next to their deck...

I made a call to the council today to see if they had any advice. Not much I can do about the weedkiller other than speak to them, but they were more interested in the soakaway and deck at the bottom of neighbours garden.

If they've altered the natural runoff then might be grounds to lodge a complaint and their deck could be outside permitted development if its over 50cm above the natural ground level which I think it is as we can clearly see them over the fence when they're on the deck...

Going to get some pictures and send over to planning dept for some further advice. Would probably still mean going the legal route which I'd rather not do but good to know where I stand if I want to be really awkward.

If the developments are out with standards then you won't need to worry about it... Inform the council and they will deal with it.

This. I feel for you OP. I would be furious. But from the sounds of them, it is something which would likely be more hassle than it is worth to you, getting into any sort of legal battle over it. Maybe try and speak to "him" next time you see him rather than her.

This is why when I move, we are going somewhere in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours. People = ****, as Slipknot once said.

Yeah, this is exactly where i've been when buying land recently to build a house. My wife shook her head if disbelief at the plot we've ended up with, but then i pointed out it'd be around 300m to the nearest possible neighbour :D

I personally would get him to come into your garden and show him what he has done. Than ask him what he is going to do to fix it.

If he is going to act like a child, treat him like a child.

Do you get any pests that go in your garden? Fox urine is supposed to be a good deterrent so I'd try spraying some on the fence, but be very careful not to miss as some could accidentally go in the neighbors garden.
