Neighbour's scaffold is resting on my (extension) fibreglass roof. Should I be concerned?

No, we actually had very little warning because the building co had a cancellation so they were able to bring it forward. I think it was literally Friday the neighbour knocked to tell us work would start but we had no other info. I trust our neighbours, they'd not do something like this without telling us I think it's just the scaffold guys. I'm gonna go out and ask them (they are putting this up right now). I'm hoping that a) they are gonna be quite receptive (not something your stereotypical scaffolder is..) or b) it's temporary whilst they are still putting the rest up (notice the step-ladder in the pic - that's in the only space they have, so they could be planning on putting some more poles there to replace these ones, I guess?)

It depends on the make up of the roof also. Looks like a latex (rubber roof) which will allow for a bit of movement. If it is fiberglass then it does not like any movement at all and will crack.
Also they should have spread the weight with a single longer plank under both legs of the scaffold (the one nearer your house) but that depends which way the joists are running (if any, might be bison beams) on your roof.
I would not be very happy to open my curtains and see that especially if they did not ask.

I'd be promptly asking what the hell they think they're doing, in the nicest possible way (no point getting in a rage about it, but need to be firm)

Yeah regardless of whether it'll damage your roof, it's on YOUR roof.. the least they can do is ask!

So yeah, I'd be basically saying.. off, today.. end of story or I take it down myself.

Then we can discuss if I'm happy with you putting it back.

I think I'd be more unhappy with my neighbours than the builders. They should really speak to their builders and you without you having to do anything.

If that was my builders and I saw that they'd put scaffolding on the neighbours roof, I'd be speaking to my builders about it and then going to speak to my neighbours myself to make sure they're ok/apologize if not.

@bloodiedathame - can I park my car on your driveway? It won't damage it, I promise.

That would be coming straight down if it was my roof. If there is damage that isn't immediately apparent, the neighbour or builder isn't going to be interested in a few months time.

Yep.

"Not on my roof!"
Secondeded. Or thirded or whatever.
That is your property. Irrespective of how likely you think it will or won’t damage your property if they do end up causing a problem it will be difficult to get recourse. Easy to say in hindsight but they should have got a party wall agreement.

Get them to move it to the supporting wall, which will have the compression strength. No need to be an ass to your neighbour its not their fault but the cowboy scaffold company.

Our scaffolders asked our neighbour who rightly said no. I wasn't aware of this until after the fact.

My concern would be any issues during or after where to be honest getting someone to admit fault may be troublesome.

I'd ask them nicely to move it. They have zero choice IMO.

That would inconvenience me, so no. A scaffolding pole on an inaccessible roof does not.
