Spoke to the scaffolders and they agreed to take a look, then knocked on my door ten mins later to say they are going to move it and they since have done.
I'm not annoyed with/suspicious of my neighbours. The scaffold only went up today and they haven't been in all day, I expect that (assuming scaffolders even tell them) they will apologise as we have good relations anyway.
Just to be clear, I was only worried that there may be some damage to the roof. I paid the best part of £2k to get that roof replaced a couple of years ago, and that's not including any chance of internal damage to my kitchen + fittings from a potential leak in the future. In fact the money isn't even a huge deal because I'd have no qualms chasing them through the courts if I really needed to - I just don't have the time to worry about any of this kind of thing. This work is due to last 8 weeks and that scaffold is going to be there the entire time, so I don't want to take any chances of it weakening/cracking the fibreglass.
Anywho.. it's a moot point now as they have removed the poles completely and there is no longer anything on my roof aside from dirt, moss, and that length of cable you can see in the pic.
