Nespresso refillable capsules

^ op is asking about the capsules , not the machines

i never saw those refilables, might give them a try

Yeah have used them and they just sit in the drawer unused. If you don't mind clearing up the coffee grounds and also it takes a while (and waste) to get the tamping right then they are ok.

Half the reason for a Nespresso is the convenience of slot, button, coffee so it kinda defeats the object somewhat.

I can't see the point really. Official ones are about 30p each and are sealed for freshness. No faff

thats still quite expensive per cup though

i bought a machine at work that you put espresso powder in and it works out much cheaper

my gf loves the nespresso though

Yeah I see your point there. I was just thinking about having a change of coffee, but while keeping the convenience of the Nespresso.

However I guess they have to be made up fresh as they aren't sealed, so probably not worth the hassle each morning and will continue to use the stove top cafetiere if I really want to use our own coffee.

We have the Nescafé one, we got it cheap. It's so convenient as I can't be arsed buying an Espresso machine it'd take me a long time to get the right balance.

I mean there are definitely advantages to the proper machines but the Nescafé and others are so easy and quick to use and it does taste good.

I have a few of the coffee duck pods and to be honest they are not as good.
I have bought the strongest espresso coffee I could find locally and it still didnt come out as strong as the genuine articles.
Washing is a pain in the arse and they do wear out fairly quickly too on the broad side that has the lid.
If you do go for them, buy the finest ground espresso coffee and used something firmer than your thumb to properly tamper it down otherwise you might as well drink hot water.

i have brought some compatibles from the real coffee comp and they are lovely. and 23% cheaper.

Great, good to hear from someone who has tried them! I think I will be giving them and home prepared ones in general a miss.

Sounds promising, do you have a link?

I have a Nespresso machine. It's great. If you buy enough it works out at around 26p a cup and it's compact and easy to use. The range of coffees is good enough too. I thought about third party capsules, but decided for the sake of 2-3p it's not worth it.
