Net book hd problem

hey all i ahev a netbook and its hd is making a klonking noise every 2 seconds and when it finally loads it tells me can not find os is there just ready for the scrap and no data will be traceable?

The drive is dead unless someone is willing to employ expensive data recovery techniques.

If you want to be 100% sure destroy the drive. The platters are probably glass so it won't take too much effort.

For desktop drives I normally remove the platters and fold them in half.

Though so flipping thing had me os and i dont have serial number for it....

Is there no windows sticker with the serial number? on the HP Mini netbooks you have to remove the back to see the sticker, on some acer netbooks it's under the battery.
