Ok so my uncle moved to a new house a while ago and chose to use SKY as his isp, but almost since he joined them his router (white netgear they supplied) loses connection to the net every now and again (internet connection light on the router goes out) the weird thing is when he makes a telephone call it reconnects  anyone know if theres a cure for this?

Maybe it is his telephone line that is coursing this.
Try and put it into the test socket on the phone line and see if it do it then.

Sounds very much like a high open fault, pick up the phone and see if there is any crackling at all. If so, contact your telephone service supplier and raise a fault, DO NOT mention broadband just the bad line.

What will have happened is that the physical line is damaged and the increased voltage when you use the phone causes the gap/damage to be bridged and everything works.

Once the line is fixed, the broadband should be nice and stable again :) Let us know how you get on.
