.NET or Java?

Hi guys,

Will be starting a new job soon and there's the possibility of choosing between .NET or Java training. Was wondering which one would you recommend and why?

If the site has a significant Unix infrastructure and a tendency to veer towards linux/Unix then Java.

If they're a Microsoft house I'd choose .NET

It's probably not the best answer but the technologies are comparable, just depends what you company are geared up for.

.NET is probably the safest option for enterprise work. Most businesses seem to be going with it these days.

At the end of the day though, it's down to whether the company is .NET or Java oriented.

I'd say .NET personally; nothing beats it
