Ok, would you think it was slightly strange for the parents of your fairly new girlfriend to stalk you on the net? That includes looking at Facebook profiles, OcUK posts, Twitter, Blogs etc?

Would you do it for your daughter/son?

Do I have a right to be scared?:(

How would they view your profile on Facebook if you've set it to friends only? I assume you didn't add them as friends! :p

Ocuk stalking seems a bit much, facebook maybe, especially if your girlfriend uses it a lot, I could see how parents might have an interest.

Not in this day and age - no not really. Im'sure I might have a peak at my kids friends if it's still around then.

If you write stupid things on such sites, you are leaving yourself open.

I have a female friend who was stalked by another girl I know on facebook. She did the same at school and was always coping her (copied her clothes etc) - then on facebook she changed her profile pic to the same pose/wearing the same clothes as hers (even though she hadn't seen her in 16 years) - wrote about the same things etc - it ended with my friend closing her account on Facebook.

Also had an employer use networking sites as evidence that a said employee was actually going out partying when they were supposed to be unfit for work (and off on long term sick for over a year) - and the printouts were used in the deciplinary proceedings.

I have a couple of friends who are just starting out as teachers. Both of them have heavily vetted their facebook profiles, especially removing contact details, just incase.

PK!
