Net stalking

I'm not that worried. I don't post anything online that I definetly don't want to be public. Just a little creepy, that's all.

Looks like her parents have gone Tefal on your ass!

With the benefits of the internet these days I'm sure it didn't take much to search both of your names and relate it back to you on FB, OcUK, etc. The pics posted are obvious give aways of who you are and once they have your username that's it!

If they have got you on FB and your profile is locked they could be accessing their daughters account (used FB on home PC and browser is remembering login credentials?) just a thought.

I think when/if I have a daughter I am deffinatley going to Interwebz their potential male friends, just to see what I get. If the resource is there, why not use it?

Finally you are a student, geek, look shifty and use those crazy walking/jumping boots. Any parent would be in their right mind to be suspicious! :p

Hmm I don't think it's that unusual. I would probably do it if I were a parent. It's easy to have quite a large profile on the internet these days with the variety of websites like facebook etc. If all the information they're viewing is public then I don't see the harm in doing a little bit of 'research'.

I'm not sure but is calling your girlfriends parents creepy really a good way to start off a relationship with them? Personally I'd be erring on the side of not, especially on a public forum that you've already said you know they might read but each to their own and all that jazz.

I probably wouldn't be thrilled if a girlfriends parents tried tracking me down rather than simply asking me (or my girlfriend) relevant questions but if you've made the information available then you've got to expect that people with a natural interest may seek to view it.

I'm not calling them creepy, I'm calling stalking me on the net creepy. Two different things ;)

Nice slant, I'm not sure it will save you but good try all the same. :p

How did you discover they were searching for you? Was it something they said or did your girlfriend tell you? If they told you then they might be warning you to be careful about what you post in future (no shots of their daughter in provocative poses for instance), if they didn't tell you and she did then it sounds more likely they were just doing it out of curiousity and haven't been unduly worried by what they've found.

Ok, would you think it was slightly strange for the parents of your fairly new girlfriend to stalk you on the net? That includes looking at Facebook profiles, OcUK posts, Twitter, Blogs etc?

Would you do it for your daughter/son?

Do I have a right to be scared?:(

Won't she see that post?

I was told from my GF and as for the 'provocative' poses, if it's ok'd by the GF, then that's all that matters. And I made sure I asked the GF before posting them :)
