I didn't doubt you did ask her before posting pictures (I didn't mean that you already had, it was a hypothetical) and it should be her opinion that counts but at the same time I could understand why parents might have an issue with it if you ever did post provocative images of her.

Did they possibly tell your girlfriend as a bit of a joke that they'd been searching you out when they really had probably just stumbled across your name? It might not be serious/creepy stalking, just a bit of humour that has been lost in the translation.
