Indeed, HL2 is more GPU intensive, WoW is much more cpu heavy, at least it can be, it's not especially if you are just running around largely empty Azeroth I suppose.

Google Acer 1810, it's a netbook sized laptop with a ULV c2s (there is also a 1810TZ coming out which is ULV c2d) which will probably beat the **** out of the Atom for processing power.

As for graphics, they ship with Intel 4500HD - http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-4500MHD-GMA-X4500MHD.9883.0.html - as you can see, this sits just under the Radeon X1300, which my work Lenovo T60 has, which I can very easily play WoW on at low graphics, at native 1400x1050, I can do my daily quests, and 5 mans with ease.

Also, the Acer has upgradability. I'm planning on picking one up when I'm in the states at Christmas, dumping 4Gb of RAM in there and a 320Gb WD Scorp Black.

Aye yea, I recommend these, I have an Acer Timeline 4810T myself, it's not really a netbook challenger at 14" but as you say, you can get smaller ones with the same ULV processors, you can also get them with ATI HD 4330 rather than the Intel X4500, making it quite capable of playing a good number of things reasonbly ok.
