Netflix 4K only On 10 series GPU

2560x1440 isn't 2K.

If you truly care about quality, you're not really going to be looking to Netflix for high quality video content.

I disagree, while not as good as a physical UHD Blu-ray, some of the shows encoded with Dolby Vision look stunning. Even some of the standard 4K shows look really good.

They look good, but it's not the particularly high when it comes to overall image quality. That was my point, not that Netflix image quality is bad.

Do people really need to watch Netflix in 4K on their PC? Any half decent TV will have a Netflix app built it that you can just use. Surely most people who watch Netflix and care about image quality will be watching on a OLED TV not a PC monitor?
Don’t forget about the growing amount of people that use projectors. Due to projectors not having inbuilt apps its common to use a PC for blurays and to stream Netflix to a nice large 100”+ screen. For people like us this change is very welcome. I am not aware of any better way to play blurays and get 4k HDR streaming to a large screen in one device.

It would be nice to be able to have it all in one place - though I've got a separate setup that is better suited for movie enjoyment I do watch a lot at my desk as well.

You forgetting about all the people that have their pc's hooked up to the TV for media.
I much prefer to use netflix on my pc over built in apps I find it faster easier to use and all my sound is setup to come out of pc.
