This morning I got an email from Netflix telling me they are putting the monthly subscription fee up once again. This time to £10.99 per month for the standard plan.

My initial reaction was to cancel my subscription altogether but opted for the lower priced basic plan at £6.99 month instead.

It doesn't seem that long since the last price increase.

Those changes were announced in March.

Along with account sharing being tightened and also rumours of ads being introduced in the future…… the share price did take big hit this week though

Thanks for the link. From that link: "William Ackman, ditched his $1.1bn investment in Netflix on Wednesday, taking a loss of more than $400m." And he only just bought the shares 3 months ago. That's got to sting a bit.
I would most definitely be miffed if I lost £400 million. "Miffed" is an understatement, I'd be downright irked :)

I ended my Netflix subscription. Price is going up, shows keep going away and it never plays in the quality that I want it to.

What they need to do is stop messing around with 4K + 4 screens for £16 and offer me 4K 1 screen only for £10.

I live on my own, I don’t need to pay for up to 4 devices.

Too much for what it is imo, particularly when the UK Netflix catalogue is so poor compared to the US catalogue (assuming you don't use 'workarounds').

There's a small amount of good stuff on Netflix, but once you've gone through everything you actually want to watch there's just a mountain of garbage.

Had Netflix on and off for a couple of years, unlikely I'll ever restart my subscription other than for a month at a time to watch a specific show or something like that, especially now the price is up.

Really annoying how they hide what's actually available too, and you have to go to some third party website which may or may not be up to date to see if a show / film is on Netflix or not.

Yeah that's a valid complaint as I guess the standard price is only HD.

This always wound me up with sky. In this day and age there shouldn't even be a thing as SD for the basic/entry package. I can understand paying a little more for UHD, but HD should just be the basic/entry package.

Netflix is okay if you get the top tier package and share it with 3 or 4 households, same as Spotify family. Per person it's too much.

Or just screw yourself like us, pay for both and then have everyone else use your account...

We also have a particularly dodgy Unkle who likes to watch films of a certain "nature" on our Amazon Prime and it's always obvious because as soon as you log in they're all the first thing you see under "More like you've watched" :(
