Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone can help me out as just recently my wifi signal has dropped in performance on my Netgear D6300!
Through out the house it has dropped to almost no connection and even right next to the router only getting a couple of bars, there is round about 10 items connected to my network, i have also tried switching them off but that hasn't helped any!

Have you checked if another local network has recently started up? Software such as insider is useful to see what's going on. I use 'Wifi Analzyer' on an Android tablet.

yeh i'm using 'wifi analytics' on my Z4 i'm now getting a good signal in my dining room next to the router but everywhere else is pretty poor!

2.4GHz is better at going through walls and other similar objects. Depending on where you live you may be fighting with many other local 2.4GHz networks.

5GHz is more easily blocked by objects but is capable of faster data rates if you can get a signal. For a variety of reasons it's less likely you'll get interference from other local networks.

The options to turn them on and off should be available if you log into the router's web interface. Your best leaving them both on and using them as appropriate. I run with two different SSIDs so I know whether I'm connecting at 2.4GHz or 5GHz.

There's loads of information out there about the various options if you have a quick Google.

Can you recomend a good wifi booster/ extender plz?

have you tried to update firmware & then to reset the modem? sometimes resetting it helps for good functionality (in this case & for the wifi drivers)
