Netgear DG834V3 Weird problem

There's only a half meg [1 x ip profile] between those two syncs.
It's getting darker earlier now, so syncs on longer lines can get a bit lower.
ADSL syncs are lower when it is dark, more noise about from many different sources. MW radio, central heating, boilers, plasma tellys, allsorts.

Aint the line in slightly better condition atm?

Never thought there was any difference with the lines between night and day

the 5 weeks ago shows a higher sync. There is a huge amount of noise at night, which can affect those of us with longer lines. Your attenuation suggests a line length of around 4KM+..roughly.

Yea thats about right, looks like I'm screwed for any decent broadband speeds :\, we only got broadband on August the 18th 2004 :(.

If you work through those guides i posted the link to at dslzone, you might be able to tidy up something with your internal wiring setup.
For example, if you have a master socket which is of the NTE5 variety, a detachable lowerhalf, you can use the test socket behind it, stick your router direct into that. see if it makes any difference.

I took the cover off, there is no test socket

sounds like it is not an nte5 then...bummer. How many phones do you have? try disconnecting everything else on the phonelines, ie phones sky box etc..

I disconnected everything from the socket except the PC obviously and the speed or anything never changed.

Maybe just external interference then, or maybe a fault. How is your phone? any noise when making calls, hissing, crackling etc?

If you mention broadband to your phone supplier, they will try and fob you off by asking you to contact your ISP. Just tell your phone supplier you've got bad hissing and crackling on your line.
