Hi guys,

Bought this router last week and I like it a lot, however, I have a weird wireless issue. Event though it's connected, sometimes pages just won't load and I have to hit F5. Hitting F5 normally makes the page load immediately. Other times, I have to hit F5 3 or four times.

Any ideas?

not router?
same router, no issues, you using chrome perchance? known issue, disable DNS pre-cashing.

I had this problem with my dgn2000 and it was down to the wireless adapter not liking the wireless channel the router was running on I had to set mine to 4.

Had no ends of wireless problems with this router.

Switched to virgin and there wireless router works perfect.

There's is a Netgear DG834G or something isn't it? I fancied the wireless N as I can make use of it, but I guess it's not the end of the world.

OK, so what router for £50 budget tbh?

I was thinking about purchasing another one of these today to replace the exact same one that developed problems. The DGN2000 a customer of mine own, has serious issues with the lan ports. They just won't go right. Keep getting the limited or no connectivity error message no matter what device you connect to it or what ever port you pick.

I am 50/50 whether to buy the same one again. The old DG834G routers I always purchased never gave bother and the only other netgear routers I purchased was the DG834GT which always gave issues or now this DGN2000.

They want an 'N' router to take advantage of the 'N' laptops and 'N' wireless printer so the DG834G is out for me. Not sure if I should try a Belkin?

So, I've ordered a Draytek Vigor 2820n (I know, a little over budget) and the Netgear will be returned.

I used to like netgear but this has stung a little.

Sure the Draytek doesn't look as nice, and that's annoying too :(

ok my DGN2000 has started dropping off randomly now?
will work fine for a day or so but then just stops working (says connected but no data sent)
seems to be getting a little hot, should I return for a replacement?

Got the DGN2000 router too last year, first one I got was faulty and the wireless would completely stop working after a day of use and would require a reboot every morning but then the place I got it from replaced it and it's been a good router, but the wireless coverage hasn't been as good as my old DG834G router and the DGN2000's coverage isn't as good as it is made out to be. Also in my experience using the 270mbps settings (my laptop is also compatiable with up to 270mbps wireless speeds) is very tempermental and keeps dropping the connection and so I have to keep using the 130mbps setting. I have also heard from a few other people that they think the DGN2000 is not as good as other routers out there, and yeah I agree - the router gets VERY hot which is worrying and its a well known problem. The DG834G was a fantastic router (and it still is) and I have still got it packed somewhere, fully working. The DG834GT was another good one too.

Try flashing with DGTeam firmware, and make sure the DGN2000 is placed on its side (sat sitting with the LED's diagonally up).

The DG834GT had bad problems with faulty capacitors, don't know if the DGN2000 suffers from the same problem though, maybe open it up and check for bulging caps?

Doesn't the DGTeam firmware for the DGN2000 still suffer with the common problem where the power light does not light up properly or have they released a new firmware version since then with a fix?

Not sure, I have a DGN2000 somewhere, will need to hunt it out.

Even if the power light doesn't operate properly, it's no big deal really is it? If custom firmware helps with stability then great. For what it's worth, I had the DGN installed at my brothers place for a month and he had no issue with it (DGTeam f/w flashed from out of the box).
