Hi.. I've got problems with the aforementioned NetGear WGT624 router. When we joined our 512k ISP (Tiscali) they sent us a naff little "SAGEM F@st 800-840" broadband modem, which connects to the PC by USB. Now the WGT624 wants an ethernet cable pluggin into it for the internet. As far as I know it has no built in modem, and upon looking at other ADSL Modems on the site here most seem to have USB, and not ethernet.

What gives? Do we need to buy a different modem, with an ethernet connector?
TIA all :(

You could buy an ethernet ADSL modem or replace the Netgear router you currently have with an ADSL Router that'll have a modem built in. Netgear DG834 would do the job.

Well from all of the ones I've seen here are USB - I've never seen one thats ethernet. So apart from changing the router is there anything else I can do?

OcUK don't stock ethernet ADSL modems it seems, but they do exist. I've got several ADSL Nation X-Modem's floating about the place and they seem to do the job. I've read reports of them being a bit flakey though.

Your options are like I already said - replace the router or buy an ethernet ADSL modem.

Ok Cheers Burb, I'll take a look around
