Netgear WN111 keeps dying

Hi all,

Just installed my old Netgear WN111 wireless adapter into my PC but it's giving me all kinds of problems. After a short while, the connection drops despite 'good' connection strength and will not reconnect. Windows doesn't seem to have a clue what to do with it. I recall having problems getting this thing to work before. Are the drivers rubbish or something? I got them off the Netgear website (north american ones since nothing else recent was available).

Aren't there some FCC restrictions now in USA which limit the channels and power of wifi devices? Try a driver from somewhere else or an older one maybe?
