Network auto switching problem

Hi guys

Wondering if you could help me out with an odd problem on Lion. My home router gateway is 192.168.1.1 and at work its 192.168.1.254. For some reason my Macbook Pro cannot figure out that this change occurs when I go from one place to another.

It leaves the gateway addy to the previous location and I cannot get online unless I switch it manually.

My iPhone and iPad deal with this without me even knowing about it.

Any suggestions please.

I assume you have tried leaving the DG on auto?

Nope didn't know I could put it to auto. Will give that a go!

Ahh just realised that needs DHCP and I prefer to have a fixed IP address for my comps.
