Network cable install

If running outside you can get outdoor grade cable which has an extra sheath around which doesn't break down under UV light like regular CAT5e/CAT6 cable tends to after a few years. We use that in work and it's great stuff to work with.

In my house i ran at least 2 in to every room in the house (bar the bathrooms!) with more run to my study. It's just really handy to have cabling all over the house as you can use it for lots of things. Also WIFI in new build houses is really terrible due to all the foil backed insulation so hard wired is a must if you want to achieve anything with any kind of speed or reliability.

With regards to cabling outdoors, one trick is to put the cables under the eaves or with the guttering (but NOT in the guttering) or in the loft as much as possible. Cables going vertically don't look as bad as cables run horizontally.
