Network connections slow to load?

When my computer wakes from sleep, everything is raring to go from the start. As soon as i click my mouse button i can type in my password and be in windows before my screen is on.

However, my network connection seems to take a little time getting itself together. I can right click or double click on the corner icon and nothing for maybe 15-20 seconds?

This is literally the only thing. I can come back from sleep and have Photoshop CS3 loaded up quicker than the Network connection.

Any ideas? Running Vista 64bit SP1 (Though did it pre Service pack too) with Asus P5K-E Wifi.

I have the same issue on XP, and sometimes it will claim that it is still connecting even though I can still access the internet. I just right click on the connection, Open Network connections and refresh the window and it is fine. Very weird.
