Network Dropout with "timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded"

Recently switched to vodafone 1gb fibre and I frequently get network drops.

When checking the event viewer, I see multiple entries of '..........timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded'.

I tried updating the realtek ethernet drivers, but I am still experiencing dropouts.

I don't have DNS servers specified on my Win10 machine and it is connected directly via cable to the router. DNS settings should be automatically retrieved from the vodafone powerhub.

I don't know how to get to the bottom of this issue and grateful for any advice.

Thanks.

I have changed DNS settings on the vodafone powerhub: primary: 1.1.1.1, secondary: 8.8.8.8

I hope that fixes things. I will report back after sufficient time.

Haven't noticed any DNS errors since I updated them. However, the event viewer reports a lot of '.....did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.' - this might be nothing as I have not monitored that before and could have always been there.

Still getting random DNS errors together with network dropouts. I have just applied the fix suggested here:

Failing that, I will try the Cisco Umbrella DNS settings on the router.

Well that youtube fix didn't work.

@aaronyuri - I get network dropouts whilst in game APEX. No other devices are affected. When I look at event viewer, it only reports DNS issue e.g.

"Name resolution for the name wpad timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."

I get multiple of these (not just for wpad).

Also, I previously downloaded updated drivers and applied them.

I have now updated to the Cisco Umbrella DNS servers. Hoping this works, but I agree it may not be a DNS issue, but I don't know how to get to the bottom of this.

I think it may have been a pc problem. I reset the network adaptors and it seems to have fixed the issue - no more disconnects and no more DNS errors reported. However, my wifi ability on the pc no longer works as normal. It is a lenovo pc, so I would not have expected that. Still, I am connected via ethernet so don't need wifi on a static pc.

I will continuously monitor.
