Network Dropout with "timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded"

Recently switched to vodafone 1gb fibre and I frequently get network drops.

When checking the event viewer, I see multiple entries of '..........timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded'.

I tried updating the realtek ethernet drivers, but I am still experiencing dropouts.

I don't have DNS servers specified on my Win10 machine and it is connected directly via cable to the router. DNS settings should be automatically retrieved from the vodafone powerhub.

I don't know how to get to the bottom of this issue and grateful for any advice.

I mean, at least try it? Put Cloudflare (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1) or Google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) DNS servers in and see if it resolves the problem. It'll help narrow down where the issue is.

I would guess it's Vodafone DNS servers being, well, typical ISP DNS servers. Try changing the upstream DNS to Cloudflare/Quad 9 or similar, or hand out direct via DHCP.

Thanks.

I have changed DNS settings on the vodafone powerhub: primary: 1.1.1.1, secondary: 8.8.8.8

I hope that fixes things. I will report back after sufficient time.
