Network external or usb 2

hey guys i am in need for a external drive around 2tb iv seen those NAS drive and wonder if they are faster for backing up data?

i would like to be able to backup automatically also

any ideas?

Unless you spend a fair amount of cash on a NAS box then USB is going to be faster. eSATA, however, is the best option.

Automatic backup scheduling is easily done but the software you need will depend on whether you want to do full disk image backups or file level ones.

All depends if you have usb 3.

USB 2.0 will bottleneck you to around 30MB/s. Go for eSATA. If you don't already have an esata port, get One of these

and an esata to esata data cable

USB 3.0 is good too, but a bit more expensive to set up.

iv got a esata connection. know any good esata external drived?
