i just use windows update and use .net framework 2,

I think you have to have an earlier version on there first before it can update to the new one, like .NET 1.1, then you can update that to .NET 2, don't think you can just put .NET 2 or 3 straight on. or if im mistaken, then just use the drivers on their own and download ATi Tray Tools to do all your AA/AF settings etc... plus more besides, no need for the .NET, does everything the CCC does and more, and its a lot better. 
You can get ATi Tray Tools here, a lot off ppl use this rather than the CCC, so if you can't get the CCC working its worth trying.

i never installed .net 1 but anyway i agree with loadsamoney, its uneeded anyway as ati tray tools does it all
