Hi, I'm in a house with 7 lads using a 10mb cable connection, a couple of them are quite of downloading and I would like to be able to limit either their bandwidth usage or connection speeds, preferably both. The way I tried involved installing netlimiter on each of their pcs but the most annoyin one took his off because he was using it as an excuse to blame on his laptop (expensive dell laptop that takes nearly half an hour to boot up theres so much stuff).

Is there a program I can just use from my computer to control their access? I can cut him him off through my router (Netgear WGT624 v3) but he always comes and cries about it. It would be cut if I had could see what hes upto as well because I think he spends a lot of time on warez sites and things and it'll be me who gets the stick if theres any backlash about that.

Cheers guys.

I would say Netlimiter is still your best bet.

If you install Netlimiter on his machine. Run it up and tell it *not* to run at startup, then hide the files - he won't even know it is running (it will just run as a service on his machine, and no icons or applications will be running).

So long as the service is running, you can do all the remote netlimiter things from your machine.

This only works with Netlimiter 2.0 Pro iirc
