Network Hubs

I've got my pc here connected to the router through ethernet and got my PS3 next to it.

Can I buy a hub that will then allow my PS3 (for streaming) and PC to connect to the router through ethernet instead of having two long cables running along the wall from the router to my PC and PS3?

Yes, but it's a switch you want rather than a hub.

I have a suspicion that you're not actually asking what you want or are using the wrong terminology as ethernet is the 'long cables'. How about telling us exactly how the PC and PS3 are currently physically connected.

Ethernet is the "long cables". I just didn't want to run two along the hallway but instead wanted one going from the router to my room then using the switch to have two shorter cables to the PC and PS3.

Sorry I read over my post and it made it sound like I already had both connected via cat 5.

Okay. In that case, as Tolien says, a switch is exactly what you need.
