I have recently added to the number of PCs in my house and I now have 3 or 4 [Dad doesn't always bring laptop home :p] and as it stands most of the media everyone uses is stored on my main rig.

Is there any software, preferably free, that I can use that will tell me who is accessing my main rig and what they are accessing? Also, is there any kind of software I can use that will monitor the network activity of my router?

None of this is absolutely essential but would be ever so useful :)

That is actually built into Windows...

Start->Run->"compmgmt.msc"->OK.

Then goto System Tools->Shared Folders->Sessions or Open Files.

Netstat.
Its built into 99% of OS's out there, and once you know the command switches, its a great program for diagnostics.
