Network Power Adapters

Hello Everyone,

I am moving my PC tower to another room in my home and the problem I now have is network connection of my tower PC to the router and the outside world.

Are the 2 items below are what I need to purchase ! ?
As I have my PC tower next to the router the cable is quite short.
Moving the the PC tower to another means I will use the house power sot ringmain as the LAN

You could go the powerline route but at that cost, wow! that's expensive.

Could you not opt for running ethernet cable or would you prefer it over powerlines?

Problem with cable is the location is upstairs front of house from a downstairs back of the house !

I am looking at powerline adapters too, you seen this one? It has a gigabyte ethernet port like the dearer ones you posted but it less than half the price.

Thats a good price, the only thing I am not sure about is how critical the speed is from 1000mbs v 1200mbs !

If I could run a network cable from a down stairs room to an up stairs room I would. Without chisling channels and drilling through rafters running the cable is going to be very difficult and labour intensive..

The would have to go around most of the outside of the house.

OK, so if I go down the power adapter route is not to pay for expensive ones or try and get a network cable from my router to my PC !

The other option I was thinking off was to pay for BT / telephone engineer to put a put socket line to the upstars room.
Then I can connect / reposition the router to that new phone socket !
