Network Printer & Saving problems

Hi, All

I was wondering if some one can help me. I work in a school & have been having printing & saving problems on the network for Pupil accounts.

Exactly what is happening is when a pupil tries to print to a default assigned printer according to what room they are in, the wrong printer will come up in the profile.

The other problem which we are having is that students cannot save to allocated drive on the network. Sometimes the drive will load up & sometimes it won't.

We are using script to direct the printers to each room.

We have been having these problems for adleast a month now & have gone over all the possibilities but do not know what to do.

Can some one please give me some expert advice.

Do the students have roaming profiles at all ? If so it could be that the script you are using isn't getting rid of the existing printers in the profile ?

Another option you might be able to use is to set the printer on the computer rather than under the user account. This way you can set every computer in a room to print to the right place and when someone logs on to that computer they should get the correct printer. A bit more manual work but then you should only need to do it once.
