Hi,
i wonder if anyone can help / advise me on the following please:
i've decided to integrate a server with SBS 2003 on into my home network. i am planning on using this and a stand alone laptop as a "training tool" etc. however to get the most out of it i will hopefully be using a lot of its features DHCP / DNS / Exchange / Intranet etc so i've had to re-arrange my setup. currently its just a general d-link router / DHCP enabled, couple of pc's and xbox hard wired to it, bit of wireless for a couple of laptops, nothing special.
now the following is what im considering, can anyone with a bit of knowledge tell me if its the best way, or advise otherwise and maybe point out any problems i may come across because no doubt i'll have missed a few. the tight bums at work won't pay for any training so i'm going it alone till i can gather some funds for proper training.
I appreciate i could proabably get rid of the router but, i can't afford a static ip at present from my ISP, the server won't be on 24/7 so net access for the wireless laptops would be out the window and lastly i want some form of protection and don't want it unsecure because ive changed a setting or missed a tick box etc
Thanks!
