Hi guys im a novice at networking so please be gentle

In my house the wifi sucks have tried loads to get it to work but its just not reliable slow speeds and it cuts out :( so i had a plan tonight but dont know if its possible? if its not then ill just buy a hub but im trying to be cheap lol

The only way is to draw it tbh so i hope this helps

router 1 = Virgin Super Hub
router 2 = Netgear VNR2000v2

Now i have tried this and i can get internet to all 3 devices :)
BUT there does not seem to be a path back to the pc? ie i cant transfer files to the WDTV or use media streaming to either PS3 or 360 but they all can access things like youtube/iplayer etc
Which tbh is the main reason to try this setup anyone shed some light?

As people have already mentioned, the main things you need to make sure you sort out when connection a 2nd to a network is to disable DHCP on the extra router so that it doesn't try to offer IP addresses to devices on the network and that the WAN port should NOT be used, the 2nd router should be connected to the end devices and the main router using its LAN switch ports.

Also, one thing that can cause issues is that you want to make sure the 2nd router is on the same IP range. For example some routers by default use 192.168.0.0/24 for LAN, some use 192.168.1.0/24. make sure the 2nd router is setup with an IP that is in the same range as the first router.

Right cheers guys :)

fatal errors from me were
connecting to wan on router 2 lol

i also have to manualy put the dns/gateway from router 1 into router 2 settings and bang all good :)

just transfering a file now getting 10.1 MB/second
that sound right?
